Dear readers,
You are looking at the electronic version of the magazine TELEKOMUNIKACIJE published by the Republic Telecommunication Agency (RATEL). The outstanding role of telecommunications in the development of the whole economy and business in the Republic of Serbia, inspired us to launch this magazine. RATEL has the obligation to monitor and promote the development of telecommunications, owed to the professional and scientific effort of engineers, researchers and academics from the ICT sector. Telecommunications are the infrastructural pillar for the development of the Information Society, which is one of the principal accomplishments of the modern world and necessary element of the economic development.
Speedy development of the ICTs requires a multidisciplinary and close exchange of scientific and professional experience. RATEL wishes to provide the opportunity for all experts within the telecoms sector to publish their scientific contributions and comment the latest global achievements, give an overview of the current situation and future development trends. This would enable up-to-date overview of the progress made in the telecoms sector and provide important information to users, operators and international organizations.

We expect you to make a contribution on the above subjects.
The first issue was printed and published in April 2008 and distributed to over 150 addresses in the country, throughout the region and also to the international institutions, followed by the second issue in November 2008.
